    Dental implants

    Endoret® (PRGF)

In order to obtain the best results possible in all of our surgical procedures we use the PRGF technology, patented by BTI.

Regenerative medicine is aiming to utilize the resources of one’s own body with the aim of tissue regeneration and recovery of damaged functions.

Due to its great results in treatment and shorter healing period a number of public figures as well as a number of athletes turned to Endoret® technology with the purpose of better injure recovering or operation recovering.

    What is Endoret (PRGF) technology?

It is biomedical technology that from the minimal amount of the patient’s blood isolates and concentrates the growth factor and other proteins responsible for tissue healing and regeneration. Application of Endoret® technology stimulates, accelerates and helps the recovery of the damaged tissue.

Endoret® is the most advanced autologous system used to obtain plasma rich in platelets. It is safe to use and its efficiency in stimulation and acceleration of tissue regeneration has been confirmed in over hundreds of published works in the magazines all over the world. It has also been presented in many national and international medical congresses.

    Therapeutic formulations

One of the main characteristics of Endoret® technology is the possibility of five different therapeutic formulations that are all biocompatible and based on the use of patient’s own blood.

    • Supernatant: ideally used as eye drops.
    • Liquid: to infiltrate muscles, tendons, joints, subcutaneous injuries. It is also used to bioactivate BTI dental implants and prosthesis used in orthopeadics.
    • The clot or the “Skelet”: coagulation formulation that facilitates the inner concentration of platelets and growth factors as well as other bioactive molecules that can be used in surgery and skin lesions.
    • Fibrin membrane: enables balanced and gradual growth factor and protein release.  Due to its hemostat characteristics it is a great biomaterial used to fill in and seal defects and to accelerate bone and adjacent soft tissue healing after the extractions.
    • Graft: Endoret® can be tied to cells, autologous and heterologous biomaterials and it offers great clinical advantages.

The wide application maximizes therapeutic possibilities of this biomedical technology and provides adjusted clinical solutions.

Please, follow the instructions after the procedure (you can download them here).

    Sinus lift

Unfortunately, once teeth are lost bone begins to resorb and therefore there is a significant loss of bone volume. Sometimes, there is not enough bone height for implants to be placed. In that case a sinus lift surgery is performed. A sinus lift can be done only in the upper jaw.

This simple procedure consists of lifting or moving upwards your sinus membrane. The success of this procedure can be improved by the PRGF technology. Whether the implant will be placed simultaneously with the sinus lift procedure or only afterwards depends on your bone volume.

The process itself, although it may sound complicated and painful, is extremely simple and is performed under the local anesthesia and therefore is completely painless.

Please, follow the instructions after the dental implants procedure (you can download them here).

    Alveolectomy

For routine tooth extractions, instruments such as forceps and elevators are used. But sometimes a tooth, or a part of the tooth can be anchored deep in your bone and very difficult to extract (for example: when the roots are cracked, curved, or in the case of a wisdom tooth, complex extraction and impacted tooth). In order to remove such tooth or root it is necessary to surgically remove some of the bone that surrounds the tooth and prepare the access for the tooth removal.

The procedure is performed under the local anesthesia. The tooth is removed through the opening in the bone, the incisions are then closed up using sutures before a dressing is placed over the wound for protection. It takes about a week for a wound to heal, after that the stiches are removed and the bone regenerates by itself. Only after few months the bone defect can be filled by a new bone.

The process itself, although it may sound complicated and painful, is extremely simple and is performed under the local anesthesia and therefore is completely painless.

Please, follow the instructions after the procedure (you can download them here).

    Apicoectomy

When there is an inflammatory process at the end of your root tip and it can not be solved by a root canal procedure or by a second root canal treatment, the surgical removal of your root tip will be necessary. An X-ray is absolutely necessary before the apicoectomy and it will be required by your dentist.

By using a special drill the dentist will remove the last few milimeters of a root tip (approximately one third of your root) as well as the infected tissue surrounding the tooth.  That means that the pathological formations such as periapical necrotic, granulomatous, inflammatory or cystic lesions are completly removed, thus leaving only the healthy tissue. In order to seal the tooth from each side and to prevent the pathological process from happening again before the procedure it is necessary to do the root canal treatment.

The process itself, although it may sound complicated and painful, is extremely simple and is performed under the local anesthesia and therefore is completely painless.

Please, follow the instructions after the dental implants procedure (you can download them here).

    Apicoectomy-important

If there are indications for this type of intervention and no contraindications, it is advisable to do the procedure as soon as possible, especially if the inflammatory process has been present for a long time. The process can have negative effect on: heart, kidneys, joints and other internal organs. It is the result of bacteria, some of which can be extremely dangerous.

    All on four

    What is All on four?

It is a revolutionary technology that enables the patient to obtain new teeth in 24 hours only. It is necessary to place 4 implants and immediately load them with the immediate denture. The final prosthetic work is delivered after 6 months. The procedure is performed under the local anesthesia and it is completely painless.

    Who is a Candidate?

Patients who have been missing teeth for a long time and therefore suffer bone atrophy in the posterior region. Two implants are placed in the anterior, and two tilted implants in the posterior region.

What is the difference between All on four and classical dentures?

Unlike the classical dentures, the All on four system is connected to the denture. There are no movements and uncomfortable situations such as the displacement of the denture while eating or speaking. The upper jaw denture is palate free unlike the classical denture where you can find the palate completely covered in acrylate.

Please, follow the instructions after the procedure (you can download them here).

    Protetics

    Ceramic crowns and bridges

Prosthetics include procedures that lead to perfecting your smile. If you have a tooth with a large filling or a tooth damaged by a caries; if a situation can not be solved by putting a filling then you should consider dental crowns. The crowns can be metal-alloy ceramic crowns or all-ceramic crowns depending on your situation and your requirements and possibilities. Dental crowns are advised after a root canal treatment in order to strengthen and to restore an already broken tooth, worn down tooth or a cracked tooth. Ceramic crowns cover the entire tooth to protect it or they can be placed on the implants. Other than cosmetic modifications, ceramic crowns are placed on severely damaged teeth that can break due to masticatory forces.

What should we expect from a perfect prosthetic solution? It should adhere perfectly to a well prepared tooth, it shouldn’t compromise the adherent tissue, it should have good and well adjusted contacts with the adjacent teeth and the antagonist teeth; and in the end the form and the color should match with the other teeth.  Meeting these conditions requires a lot of knowledge, skill and time of your prosthetics specialist as well as of the rest of the team (periodontist, implantologist) and the dental technician.

Poorly fitting crown may result in secondary caries, tooth sensibility or even loosing the crown. The crown that makes too much pressure on the gum line may lead to gum inflammation that can affect even the deeper structures of periodontal tissue. Poorly adjusted contacts with the adjacent teeth contribute to food infiltration which can also lead to caries, inflammation and other problems.

In cases where only one tooth has to be crowned it is extremely difficult to obtain the aspect of the real tooth. The biggest challenge is to make the crown seem completely natural in its relation to the gum tissue.

Dental bridges and crowns are made out of ceramic added on the metal alloy structure or they can be made by using CAD/CAM technology. The aim of the dental prosthetics is to replace the missing teeth, cosmetically improve your teeth, i.e. improve the functional and esthetic aspect of your mouth. By doing so, the quality of your life is improved.

The self-esteem and the quality of your life that are the direct result of your new smile have no price.

    CAD/CAM technology

Dental prosthetics has made a significant progress, especially when it comes to using non metal crowns. With the use of non metal dental crowns the modern dentistry has reached its peak. In the last few years these crowns became the norm when it comes to offering especially challenging esthetic solutions and solutions in the front area of the oral cavity. The best results are obtained when the crown is placed on your prepared tooth.

We collaborate with a dental laboratory and that offers us flexibility and an individual approach to our patient.

CAD/CAM technology used by our laboratory enables us a complete restoration of your teeth during one visit only.

In this case, the impression or the model is digitally processed, and the prosthetic construction is manufactured. With this type of manufacturing the constructions, the possibility of human mistake is reduced down to a minimum; the construction is very precise and we can use the variety of materials which wasn’t the case before the introduction of this technology.

    Zirconia i E.max crowns

Crowns can be made out of a number of materials. Lately only materials that are resistant and esthetically acceptable are used. In Dental Masnić we tend to use zirconia and empress or e.max ceramic crowns. These two materials have excellent characteristics and are the best materials that modern dentistry has to offer.

    Empress or E.max ceramic

Empress or E.max ceramic is one of the top materials, characterized by a great transparency. That is our first choice if the crown is placed on your shaped tooth. When combined with a natural white color of your tooth it will give the most natural results. The crown made in this material will be resistant and it will last long in time, it will also give your teeth a completely natural appearance.

Zirconia- resistance and biocompatibility are its main characteristics. Besides that, it will give your teeth natural appearance. If you are looking for a Hollywood smile, this is the material for you.

With the use of these materials, there is no black line above the gums as in the use of metal alloy ceramic crowns.

    Removable prosthetic solutions

Removable prosthetic solutions are all the solutions that a patient can remove by him or herself. We mainly talk about dentures. When most of the teeth or all teeth are missing one of the easiest solutions in order to compensate for the missing teeth is the denture. Dentures used to be the only solution, but they are not the best solution for sure. With the modern technology they can be much more comfortable and functional and they can give you nice and natural appearance.

There are more types of dentures, they can be partial and complete removable dentures, semi-fixed and fixed dentures. Completely toothless patients have problems with wearing the ordinary dentures. In those cases dental implants can be used as special anchors to make the denture more stable. Therefore, having a denture, especially one in the lower jaw shouldn’t be such a problem anymore; it is safe, more comfortable and chewing is definitely easier. Their biggest advantage is that they can be easily removed in order to maintain hygiene, and still they are safe enough to wear them without the fear of them falling down. Sometimes even with the more complicated cases two dental implants can be enough to make you feel safe and to restore the normal functionality.

The quality and self-esteem provided to you by new technologies in dentures manufacturing are priceless.

    Estetics

    Esthetic fillings

Esthetic fillings are made when there is no need for significant restorations of the dental tissue. They are made in the studio in one visit only.

We are all familiar with amalgam fillings that are nowadays substituted with esthetic composite fillings due to health and cosmetic motives. With these fillings, made out of top materials, the components of esthetic and natural appearance are maintained.

To make that kind of filling it is necessary to remove the cariated part of the tooth, unlike the amalgam fillings where it is also necessary to remove and reduce certain amount of healthy tooth tissue for better retention of the amalgam filling.

Esthetic fillings are made when there are no significant restorations needed, it is made in the studio, in one visit only. The wide spectre of the colors provides us with the chameleon effect, the result is perfectly matched color of the filling which makes it literally invisible.

    Veneers

Veneers are one of the most popular esthetic procedures. The difference between a crown and a veneer is that veneer serves the purpose of resolving an esthetic problem only while the crowns can also repair malfunctions.

Tooth preparation for a crown includes trimming only the front part of your tooth whereas  for a crown the dentist needs to trim the entire tooth.

Preparing the tooth for a veneer includes using a special technique where only 0,03 mm of the tooth surface is being removed.

Today, veneers are made of ceramic. The best technology is CAD/CAM technology that doesn’t involve metals. By using veneers a number of problems can be solved: space gaps between the teeth, making bigger or smaller teeth, shape, size, color and the position of the tooth can be changed by using veneers too. They are one of the best solutions when we want to improve esthetic of our teeth.

    Whitening

One of the first things to notice about the other person is the smile and the teeth. Teeth mirror our health. Beautiful and white teeth make us feel more self-conscious and cheerful. To make your smile beautiful and white, we use Zoom Philips whitening technology. Zoom is the safe method that will restore the whiteness to your teeth.

The whitening procedure, if preformed by a professional, is completely harmless. If you decide to repeat the procedure, the second procedure should be at least a year apart from the first one.

Before teeth whitening, a thorough examination of your oral cavity is necessary. If you have dental calculus it should be removed to obtain the best results possible. The procedure itself is very simple. First of all, gums and the surrounding tissue should be protected. The procedure is made in three series, each 15 minutes long.

Our everyday habits (coffee, cigarettes, colored drinks…) affect the color of our teeth. If you would like to restore the color you once had you make an ideal candidate. Whitening won’t change the color of veneers, dental crowns or bridges. If the surrounding tissue is well protected, the procedure is painless (90%). Some people experience sensitivity to cold air or water. These symptoms shouldn’t last more than one day. After the procedure, you will be given oral hygiene instructions. You should avoid colored drinks (coke, coffee, colored juices, red wine, smoking…) and cold beverages.

To make your white teeth last longer first of all you should maintain good oral hygiene. If you drink coffee, red wine, tea, soft or colored drinks or if you smoke, the effect of the whitening will not last long.

    Digital smile design

Each smile is one of the kind, unique and personal. To achieve this when creating a smile we use Digital Smile design technology.

Smile design is the perfect means of communication between the patient and the dentist, the expectations are met by using all the medical and technological possibilities. The procedure of designing the new smile consists of taking photos of the current situation of the patient’s mouth; then the analysis of esthetic parameters is digitally conducted. Based on these parameters one or more simulations of your final smile are made. Thanks to this innovative technology patient, prior to any intervention, can visualize how certain changes will affect the smile esthetic and the harmony of the smile with the rest of the face.

By using this method, misunderstandings and dissatisfaction by the final prosthetic solution are avoided. Simple smile design became an irreplaceable step in planning dental prosthetic solutions.

    Digital radiography in diagnostics

    CBCT, RVG, RTG

Every check up should be completed with digital dental radiography. X-ray diagnostics is the starting point in dentistry. Without it, it is not possible to make a relevant treatment plan or to begin with certain treatments. In our studio we offer you complete service, your plan of therapy and diagnostics will be based on modern digital dental radiographs.

In our studio we offer you following types of dental radiographs:  RTG, RVG and CBCT.

When you visit us for the first time you will be welcomed by our professional staff, and our doctors will make the treatment plan and consult with you. Dental Masnić pays special attention to an individual approach. Based on the check up and your personal desires and wishes, the plan of treatment is established.

    Endodontics

Bacteria reaching the inside of the tooth may lead to inflammation of  the pulp which can cause you great pains. Sometimes the process that results in a dead nerve is slow and painless due to infection that progresses slowly. Through the root canals bacteria can reach the bone structure where they cause inflammation (abscess or granuloma). The infections of the dental pulp require root canal treatment. Placement of the crowns or the fillings is not possible if root canal treatment hasn’t been performed correctly, i.e. if the cause of infection isn’t removed and the root canals are not cleaned and filled properly. Slight pain and tooth sensibility is a normal reaction after the root canal treatment; it is actually your organism’s reaction to the microorganisms that are left behind. Sometimes, root canal treatment can not be performed due to obstracted root canals, previously poorly performed root canal treatments etc. Some of these cases can be successfully resolved by performing an apicoectomy procedure.

    Orthodontics

Orthodontics is an area that specializes in correcting esthetic and functional anomalies regarding malpositioned teeth and jaw. We make difference between traditional braces and removable braces. Removable braces are usually recommended for children whose development process is still in progress and they serve the purpose of directing the teeth and jaw development. By wearing it regularly you should obtain significant results. Sometimes, after the removable braces treatment, fixed braces treatment can also be necessary.

Traditional braces include placing and attaching the brace to the tooth and placing the wires that change the position of your teeth. We distinguish between metal braces and esthetic braces (ceramic or polycrystalline braces). In our studio you will find the variety of braces to choose from.

    Clear Aligners

The future of orthodontics lies in removable, transparent aligners (such as Clear Aligners, Inman aligners) that can resolve more simple anomalies within a reasonable period of time, as long as the patient is serious and collaborative. The manufacturing of this type of aligners is expensive because it requires collaboration with licensed laboratories that posses all the technology necessary. We work with foreign laboratories (USA, Great Britain) that manufacture such appliances. But, also in Croatia this technology is developing and that makes it more approachable to our patients.

    Simply SMILE

If you want the smile you have always dreamed about, SimplySmile aligner will make it possible for you. Most of the people won’t even notice it since it is literally invisible. Other than being transparent, you will find it easy to take off, and while wearing it you will feel comfortable. SimplySmile is the most recent product that modern dentistry has to offer. SimplySmile will change your smile in a safe and descreet way.

After analyzing your impressions, photographs and dental radiographs, by using the recent CAD/CAM technology, 3D printers and scanners, in our laboratory we will come up with your plan of treatment and produce the transparent aligners that will give you the smile you’ve always dreamt about.

    Periodontics

Periodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the diseases of the periodontium, that is hard and soft tissues that support your teeth. When it comes to gum diseases it is important to stick to a control schedule because that is the only way to catch the first signs of the disease and to keep it under control.

After diagnosing the disease therapy can include procedures such as: calculus cleaning, cleaning and smoothing the tooth root. If the disease has advanced and there are periodontal pockets, they need to be cleaned by using microsurgical technique – curretage. Curretage includes scaling and root planing, cleaning the periodontal pockets but also removing inflammated soft tissue. After the therapy, often antibiotics are prescribed in order to eliminate all the bacteria. The procedure is performed in the local anesthesia.

Deep periodontal pockets require the next step in therapy, that is surgical removal of changed tissue. In some cases it is necessary to form the ridge and reduce the periodontal pocket. With a collaborative patient that maintains an excellent oral hygiene and with regular controls, this disease can be held under control.

Besides that, periodontics also deals with the esthetics of your gums. First of all, we think of gum recession and the so called Gummy smile.

Gum recession, that is pulling away of the gum tissue, can’t be considered a disease and for sure within a certain period of time it can cause various problems. It is necessary to deal with such changes on time.

Gum recession can be caused by a number of factors, such as tooth morphology, inadequate oral hygiene and the functional overload; also your age is to be taken into consideration. The characteristic of this change is pulling away of the gum margin without any signs of inflammation. Therefore, the tooth neck remains exposed and this can cause sensitivity. Due to these symptoms (recession and the exposed neck) you are more likely to suffer because of the exposure to bacteria and you are more likely to form caries of the tooth neck or suffer inflamed gums. Patients perceive recession more as an esthetic issue, especially if we are talking about the front teeth.

Smile that reveals visible gums is called gummy smile and it is not uncommon among patients. These people avoid laughing, or they cover their mouth. That directly affects one’s self-esteem. Correction of “gummy smile” includes dental crown lengthening procedure, so the gummy smile is significantly reduced. Optically we make front and lateral teeth appear longer and that makes your smile prettier. After this painless, short and effective treatment, patients leave the studio with a completely new smile; the results are visible immediately.
