AFTER SURGERY CARE

Prosthetics include procedures that lead to perfecting your smile. If you have a tooth with a large filling or a tooth damaged by a caries; if a situation can not be solved by putting a filling then you should consider dental crowns. The crowns can be metal-alloy ceramic crowns or all-ceramic crowns depending on your situation and your requirements and possibilities. Dental crowns are advised after a root canal treatment in order to strengthen and to restore an already broken tooth, worn down tooth or a cracked tooth. Ceramic crowns cover the entire tooth to protect it or they can be placed on the implants. Other than cosmetic modifications, ceramic crowns are placed on severely damaged teeth that can break due to masticatory forces.
What should we expect from a perfect prosthetic solution? It should adhere perfectly to a well prepared tooth, it shouldn’t compromise the adherent tissue, it should have good and well adjusted contacts with the adjacent teeth and the antagonist teeth; and in the end the form and the color should match with the other teeth. Meeting these conditions requires a lot of knowledge, skill and time of your prosthetics specialist as well as of the rest of the team (periodontist, implantologist) and the dental technician.
Poorly fitting crown may result in secondary caries, tooth sensibility or even loosing the crown. The crown that makes too much pressure on the gum line may lead to gum inflammation that can affect even the deeper structures of periodontal tissue. Poorly adjusted contacts with the adjacent teeth contribute to food infiltration which can also lead to caries, inflammation and other problems.
In cases where only one tooth has to be crowned it is extremely difficult to obtain the aspect of the real tooth. The biggest challenge is to make the crown seem completely natural in its relation to the gum tissue.
Dental bridges and crowns are made out of ceramic added on the metal alloy structure or they can be made by using CAD/CAM technology. The aim of the dental prosthetics is to replace the missing teeth, cosmetically improve your teeth, i.e. improve the functional and esthetic aspect of your mouth. By doing so, the quality of your life is improved.
The self-esteem and the quality of your life that are the direct result of your new smile have no price.
Dental prosthetics has made a significant progress, especially when it comes to using non metal crowns. With the use of non metal dental crowns the modern dentistry has reached its peak. In the last few years these crowns became the norm when it comes to offering especially challenging esthetic solutions and solutions in the front area of the oral cavity. The best results are obtained when the crown is placed on your prepared tooth.
We collaborate with a dental laboratory and that offers us flexibility and an individual approach to our patient.
CAD/CAM technology used by our laboratory enables us a complete restoration of your teeth during one visit only.
In this case, the impression or the model is digitally processed, and the prosthetic construction is manufactured. With this type of manufacturing the constructions, the possibility of human mistake is reduced down to a minimum; the construction is very precise and we can use the variety of materials which wasn’t the case before the introduction of this technology.
Crowns can be made out of a number of materials. Lately only materials that are resistant and esthetically acceptable are used. In Dental Masnić we tend to use zirconia and empress or e.max ceramic crowns. These two materials have excellent characteristics and are the best materials that modern dentistry has to offer.
Empress or E.max ceramic
Empress or E.max ceramic is one of the top materials, characterized by a great transparency. That is our first choice if the crown is placed on your shaped tooth. When combined with a natural white color of your tooth it will give the most natural results. The crown made in this material will be resistant and it will last long in time, it will also give your teeth a completely natural appearance.
Zirconia- resistance and biocompatibility are its main characteristics. Besides that, it will give your teeth natural appearance. If you are looking for a Hollywood smile, this is the material for you.
With the use of these materials, there is no black line above the gums as in the use of metal alloy ceramic crowns.
Removable prosthetic solutions are all the solutions that a patient can remove by him or herself. We mainly talk about dentures. When most of the teeth or all teeth are missing one of the easiest solutions in order to compensate for the missing teeth is the denture. Dentures used to be the only solution, but they are not the best solution for sure. With the modern technology they can be much more comfortable and functional and they can give you nice and natural appearance.
There are more types of dentures, they can be partial and complete removable dentures, semi-fixed and fixed dentures. Completely toothless patients have problems with wearing the ordinary dentures. In those cases dental implants can be used as special anchors to make the denture more stable. Therefore, having a denture, especially one in the lower jaw shouldn’t be such a problem anymore; it is safe, more comfortable and chewing is definitely easier. Their biggest advantage is that they can be easily removed in order to maintain hygiene, and still they are safe enough to wear them without the fear of them falling down. Sometimes even with the more complicated cases two dental implants can be enough to make you feel safe and to restore the normal functionality.
The quality and self-esteem provided to you by new technologies in dentures manufacturing are priceless.
